Dear Brother,

The time is now to register your chapter(s) for the annual “March for Babies” campaign sponsored by the March of Dimes Organization.  Let’s remember we have an aggressive goal of $15,000 for our region. Last year we were roughly 67% of our goal, which does not look good for the largest region in the fraternity.

Please follow me as I have already begun donating to this important cause.  You can follow the instructions below that have already been communicated in the Social Action Plan for our region.  Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

“Our Cause Speeds on its Way.”

Fraternally,

MARCH OF DIMES (MARCH FOR BABIES)

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. Our fraternity has partnered with the March of Dimes Organization because we want to do something about this. I know you care, too. That’s why we reach out to sponsors and donors to join this cause. Thank you for helping us give all babies a healthy start!

Each chapter should register with the March for Babies organization with a goal of at least $500 (collegiate and alumni).  Follow these steps for the initial registration:

  1. 1.              Go online to: http://marchforbabies.org/
  2. 2.              Go to join a team

Every brother should register under their chapter as well as any individuals they recruit to walk with them. The chapter can then have a series of fundraisers to raise money to donate or they can go the traditional route of brothers raising money on their own.  Collegiate chapters who don’t feel as comfortable raising the money should contact their local office (they can use the site listed above to locate) and inquire about volunteering the day of the walk. The March of Dimes (M.O.D.) is always looking for people to help with set-up and break down, people to cheer the walkers along the route, and they need assistance with the check-in process. Collegiate chapters should have a representative to come out to the campus to show the video they have about babies who are born under 5lbs. 5 oz.

GOAL:  Each chapter should contribute at least $500

Contribution period is January thru September annually: You are mandated to contribute whether your chapter is able to participate in the walk/event or not.
